2006"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>in 2006, just as a refresher for ally&#8217;all, we went to england.  on our final day there we went to york.<\/p>\n<p><strong>knaresborough<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>an amazing village with an amazing castle we found on our way to york (or thirsk&#8211; can&#8217;t remember the exact order of things). these knaresborough ones were all taken with the analog, and they all came out pretty badly.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ansate.moosheep.org\/webstuff\/digitalis\/england\/york\/castle1.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" knaresborough.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/ansate.moosheep.org\/painomelette\/index.php?blog=4&amp;p=590&amp;more=1&amp;page=2\">next page: york minster abbey<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>york minster abbey<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>this church wasn&#8217;t more beautiful than the others, or even more densely packed with religious what-nots.  but its iconography was definitely a lot weirder.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ansate.moosheep.org\/webstuff\/digitalis\/england\/york\/church15.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ansate.moosheep.org\/webstuff\/digitalis\/england\/york\/gargoyles16.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>again, didn&#8217;t come out so well, but i was so amused by the gargoyles that just stick out straight into space.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ansate.moosheep.org\/webstuff\/digitalis\/england\/york\/roman17.jpg\" \/><br \/>\nsuch a pimp.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ansate.moosheep.org\/webstuff\/digitalis\/england\/york\/kings6161.jpg\" \/><br \/>\nall benevolent men, i&#8217;m sure.  because only benevolent men get statue-fied against the wall of a church.  are these kings? priests? madmen? honestly i dont remember, and honestly i&#8217;m not sure there was a difference.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" up on the wall<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>on the wall<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>york was a paranoid city, surrounded by a fantastic wall that you are only allowed on top of in the daylight (they close the src=\"http:\/\/ansate.moosheep.org\/webstuff\/digitalis\/england\/york\/whipma6245.jpg\" \/><br \/>\nbest name for a street ever.  there&#8217;s a whole story about this, but basically it is derived from a similar-sounding name that means &#8220;what a street!&#8221; indeed. although on second glance this seems similar to the suspiciously circular type of advertising used in <em>charlotte&#8217;s web<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ansate.moosheep.org\/webstuff\/digitalis\/england\/york\/castle6247.jpg\" \/><br \/>\nsome church or another, who can be arsed to keep track?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ansate.moosheep.org\/webstuff\/digitalis\/england\/york\/castle6249.jpg\" \/> <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\"
