6+ months after the fact, here’s pictures from avebury in england.

my first view of cooling towers, from the train

the good thing about avebury is that you can get right up close to the stones.

about to get crushed by the infamous barber’s stone! (taken by ken)

a pagan’s dream? standing between the gateway stones. (taken by ken)

these sheep look surreal, but i assure you they were quite real. this is about as close as one can get to the sheep in avebury, or really just about anywhere.

climbing the hill to the next circle

thatched cottages. i wouldn’t mind living in one of these for the rest of my life.

there were all sorts of different paths to wander onto. on one we found a couple of clues meant for a kids’ scavenger hunt, and also this snail.

the sacrilege! i guess sheep have vastly different rituals here.

sheep thought i’d gone.

i basically spent my whole day harassing sheep.

we found a graveyard! this graveyard actually made us miss the bus.

the gravestone so funky i had to take two pictures of it.

this pub was beautiful, and incidentally had some good ale, which we partook of while waiting for the next bus.

ken made a new friend…
