bath in general:

really all there is to do in bath is the bath, and the abbey. and this amazing chocolatier near both of those things. but it’s still a pretty place.

the minerva-sulis bath
so the bath at bath was loaded with information. it was one of those places where you get those little handheld remote control thingummy ear devices and everyone walks around with their heads tilted, listening to voices only they can hear, but y’know, it was an ok place. since i don’t care about history and i can read, i gave up on the audio thing pretty quickly.

gifts for the goddess minerva-sulis.

here they tried to reconstruct an archway or some such.

i think this is a guy and some hunting dogs, but for all i know they’re sheep.

i saw someone else doing this and really liked the way it looked, so i staged my own. taken by ken.

i always manage to find the tombstones in everything.

we… didn’t go in the waters. now i wish i’d had time (and money) for a spa, at least elsewhere in bath.

taken by ken.

in the sauna rooms, these tiles would be supporting the floor so that steam could rise from underneath… or something. it’s been ten months, i’m a little fuzzy on the details 🙂

every now and then there’d be a little waterfall, or aqueduct thingy, and i’d try and try to get a decent picture.

there was also this incredible wishing pond.

bath abbey

this was actually the first thing i took pictures of in bath. it’s gorgeous.

immediately upon entering there’s a ton of old-school signage. it reminded me of a bulletin board in a coffee shop.

…antlers?
